Jewish Museum in Prague: 120 Years

The exhibition will mark the 120th anniversary of the Jewish Museum in Prague, one of the world’s oldest Jewish museums, alongside institutions in Vienna and New York.

The exhibition reflects the museum’s history and its mission to preserve the memory of a severely tried people whose presence has shaped Czech and Central European history for more than a thousand years.

Rare books are part of the library’s collection. One of the oldest Prague prints is Seder zmirot u-birkat ha-mazon from 1514

Visitors will have the opportunity to discover exceptional objects from the museum’s collections, many of which have never been publicly exhibited before. The objects represent the result of an unprecedented rescue mission and offer an insight into the history and identity of today’s Jewish community in the Czech Republic.

The exhibition will also highlight the international significance of the Jewish Museum in Prague, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world each year.
