Annual Conference 2021: online programme

This is the programme for the one-day online alternative to the postponed AEJM Annual Conference of 2021. There will be no need to purchase a ticket for this event – the programme we offer is free of charge for AEJM members as well as for external guests wishing to join us. The Annual General Meeting for AEJM members will take a similar form as last year in the afternoon.

Introduction by the chair of the board, Emile Schrijver (Jewish Cultural Quarter, Amsterdam). In this session, we will hear about AEJM pogramming:

ANOHA: The Children’s World of the Jewish Museum Berlin – Dr. Ane Kleine-Engel (Jewish Museum Berlin)

ANOHA. The Children’s World of the Jewish Museum Berlin, revolves around Noah’s Ark from the Tora. At ANOHA we take the message behind the story seriously. The Museum was constructed from local wood, it ensures sustainable climate control, and our Ark is home to 150 “animals” – upcycling sculptures, created by artists from used objects, chance finds, or recycled materials.

Guided Tour of “Our Courage” at the Jewish Museum Frankfurt – Erik Riedel (Jewish Museum Frankfurt)

From Białystok via Frankfurt to Amsterdam, from Berlin via Budapest to Bari: The exhibition “Our Courage” is the first project of its kind to present the diversity of Jewish experience in the early post-war period from a pan-European, transnational perspective.
