European Days of Jewish Culture 2026: LOVE

This year’s European Days of Jewish Culture begin on September 6. The European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage (AEPJ) one of our members, has coordinated this event at the European level since its inception. The goal is to highlight the diversity and richness of Judaism and its local, regional and national historical importance. This year’s theme is LOVE, reflecting the central role of love in Jewish tradition and its profound ties to interfaith dialogue and cultural and social exchange.

Here is a list of activities by our members:

• The Jewish Museum in Prague offers a guided tour of the current “Burning Love” exhibition with the exhibition’s photographer, Karel Cudlín, and curator, Michaela Sidenberg on September 6. Read more
• The musée d’art et d’histoire du Judaïsme in Paris has planned a themed day called “Jews and France: A Love Story,” on September 6. Read more
• The Jewish Museum in Hohenems, Austria, offers guided tours of its temporary and core exhibitions on September 6. Read more
• The Museum of Jewish History in Girona, Spain, invites participants to explore the concept of love as an essential value in Jewish tradition and life. The museum will be open with free entry on September 6, and there will be activities for kids. Read more
• The Jewish Museum of Switzerland in Basel has partnered with other predominantly Jewish institutions in Switzerland to develop a program for September 6. Read more
