Launch of the Virtual Belarusian Jewish Museum

After several years of research, creative work, and experimentation, the Belarusian-Jewish Cultural Heritage Center, an associated member of AEJM, has launched the first public version of the Virtual Belarusian Jewish Museum.

Belarusian Jewish heritage has been profoundly affected by destruction, displacement, and decades of exclusion from cultural memory. Much of what survives today is neglected or scattered across the world. The Virtual Museum seeks to reconnect these fragments, bring forgotten histories back into view, and offer new ways for people to encounter them.
Visitors can explore three main areas:

  • Exhibition Space: interactive digital exhibitions where history meets cutting-edge technology
  • Digital Collection: materials scattered across private and public collections worldwide, brought together alongside fascinating personal stories
  • Cultural Hub: a space where culture, art, and heritage come together in creative ways

Conceived as an evolving, participatory museum that extends beyond the online platform, it will continue to grow through new discoveries, collaboration, and public participation. An Education Center and a Shop are already in the works.

The Center’s next steps are to expand the Museum’s content, make it more accessible and engaging, and invite people to contribute their own stories, knowledge, and ideas.
