Job Offer – General Manager – Association of European Jewish Museums
The Association of European Jewish Museums (AEJM) is a non-profit association under Dutch law. Founded as a network of museums that collect, preserve, research, and exhibit Jewish heritage, it connects and unites 70 institutions throughout Europe. AEJM fosters collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and mutual understanding among Jewish heritage institutions, with a focus on curation, education, and communication.
The strategic development of AEJM is directed by its board, whose members are elected in a General Meeting that takes place within the framework of the Annual Conference. The Board supervises the work of the General Manager, who is responsible for the organization’s operational management, and is supported by a Communication Manager who provides all members with information via Social Media, a newsletter, and the website.
All operations of the AEJM, the trainings for professionals, the work of the General Manager, and the Communication Manager are being financed by membership fees as well as grants by foundations and the EU. In 2025, AEJM acquired a 3-year grant from a private foundation and a 1-year-grant in the CERV program of the European Commission. Therefore, it will intensify its activities in 2026 and hire additional Program Managers and an Administrator.
In order to coordinate the work of these Program Managers, to represent AEJM within the international museum and heritage community, and to ensure the coordinated execution of all programs, partnerships, and internal processes, the AEJM Board wants to employ a
