AEJM Board Statement on the Terror Attack at the Capital Jewish Museum
This morning, we awoke to horrifying news from Washington, D.C. – Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgram, a young Israeli couple, were shot dead outside the newly inaugurated Capital Jewish Museum after attending a diplomatic event. Following the attack, the perpetrator tried to enter the museum but was subdued by security personnel. The terrifying attack appears to have been fueled by the ongoing war in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank.
The Board of the AEJM mourns the tragic loss of these two young people and extends its deepest condolences to their families and loved ones. May their memory be a blessing.
Our thoughts are with our colleagues at the Capital Jewish Museum and our partners at CAJM during this deeply traumatic time. We stand in solidarity with them and wish them strength and healing in the days ahead.
