Megillat Esther Exhibition (Esther’s Story) at The Museum Of Turkish Jews.

Megillat Esther (3 April – 13 May 2019) used to be taken out of the enclosure and read at the Purim festival. It had the form of a roll, like The Torah, and was written by hand on parchment, occasionally adorned with paintings. In some regions, it was given to the future-groom before marriage as a gift by the bride’s family.

Over the last year The Museum Of Turkish Jews has gathered the Megillat Esters from all over Turkey.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until 13 May 2019 in the Baler Midrash section of The Museum Of Turkish Jews.
