Workshop: Moderating hate speech, taking a stand – community management under pressure

Since October 2023, Jewish museums across Europe have seen a dramatic rise in hateful comments, calls for boycotts and anti-Semitic hostility on social media. How can you protect your team without compromising the institution’s voice? How can one moderate and respond effectively, strategically and in a legally compliant manner? This practice-oriented workshop provides concrete strategies for community management under increased pressure. Teams will develop their own moderation guidelines, practise making decisions in real time and draw up a crisis protocol for emergencies. The workshop is based on real-life cases from the European museum sector.

This program is exclusively intended for staff members of institutions that are members of the AEJM. Participation is free of charge.

Places are limited to 15 participants per workshop and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration opens on June 18, 2026.
