Join us for the AEJM Annual Conference 2015 in Jerusalem. This year the conference will take place from 14 – 17 November, with an optional excursion programme on the 18th of November. It will be hosted by The Israel Museum in Jerusalem, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
The programme The “Self” and the “Other” – Jewish Museums Dealing With Notions of Diversity offers a wide range of activities, such as workshops, curatorial tours, discussions, excursions, and a keynote lecture by Avraham Burg, former Speaker of the Knesset. You will have a chance to visit not only the museum galleries and the special anniversary exhibitions of The Israel Museum, but also the U. Nahon Museum of Italian Art and the National Library of Israel. On Wednesday 18 November the AEJM and The Isreal Museum organize two parallel optional excursion programmes to museums and collections in Or Yehuda and Tel Aviv to our member institution the Museum of Libyan Jewry, the Babylonian Jewry Museum and other venues.
This year we invite our member institutions to present temporary exhibition projects at the AEJM Conference. A session with short PechaKucha-style presentations will serve as an inspiring “market place” for traveling exhibitions.
